An Elevator Speech

An Elevator Speech

An elevator speech (or elevator pitch) is a brief, persuasive speech designed to spark interest in what you or your idea has to offer. It should be short enough to deliver in the time it takes to ride an elevator—typically around 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Watch The best "Elevator Pitch" of the World?Links to an external site.

Key Characteristics:

  • Concise: Focuses on the most important information, typically your key message or value proposition.
  • Clear: Easy to understand, with no jargon or complex details.
  • Engaging: Designed to capture attention and encourage further conversation or action.
  • Purpose-driven: Can be used to pitch an idea, product, or even introduce yourself in networking situations.
